NEW BEGINNINGS

In 2008 I started a blog and continued until 2017. It was quite an endeavor of sharing my life with all my family and friends (and strangers). It’s been 5 years since I’ve written a blog post and I’m feeling like a fish out of water at this point. I’m in a very different place in my life so writing will look different than before.

I am still a wife, mom and a daughter. :)  In all these descriptions I am connected to a wonderful family in every way. I am grateful that the Lord has blessed me with all these things.

Summer 2020 family photos

As you read the Trusting His Heart blog you will discover who my family is and what we like to do. Our family has changed since 2017. We have added two sons to our family with both of our daughters having gotten married and moving out of state.

All of our kids are now young adults and living on their own. Our girls are married and our boys are doing their own thing. They are all amazing gifts to us! 

Clint and I are doing fantastic. We are in love more than we ever have been. He is my safest human on earth. He's my favorite. God has been so good to us and so kind to us.

Since ending Trusting His Heart blog, Clint and I have planted a church, gained another son-in-law, became empty nesters, and bought a convertible :). Life has changed in big ways for us but God has remained so good, kind and faithful in it all.

Writing again. 

For the past six months the Lord has been talking to me about writing again. I’ve been pushing it aside because it’s not something that I wanted to do. I created the blog but I didn’t write anything. Recently, He said, “it’s time to consider writing again”. This time I said, “ok, I'm in.” 

 

The purpose of writing this time around is different. I’m in a very different place in my relationship with the Lord in this unique season. My heart for Him is much deeper. All I desire is to give God all the honor and glory that he deserves. He has done so much in my life and deserves the credit. 

 

It’s my desire for others to get to know the God who has been so good to me. Here is my attempt at giving others a glimpse of who the God of the Universe is.

Life can go in so many different directions. It can be in a good direction or a bad direction. It’s up to us to decide where it goes.     The choices we make matter. I have seen this over and over in my life.    Even as children, choices matter. When I was in school I could choose to do well in a subject or not. If I chose to do my homework well then I would get a better grade. If I chose to study for a test then I had a better chance at passing. Paying attention in class is a choice.    I will say that as children, many choices are made for us. Those aren’t always good. SPIRITUAL ROOT SYSTEM

How do we grow spiritual roots that are strong enough so that we can stand when the troubles of life hit us and want to knock us down?    The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man  who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has  no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution  comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.  Matthew 13:20-21   God says that we will face trouble in this life. It’s not the same for everyone. I’ve experienced enough trouble in my life to satisfy me for a lifetime. Life is hard. For some it’s harder than others.    In 2004 when my family and I were in a head-on collision while going 65mph my life changed forever.
